Steve Bellone, Babylon Town Supervisor, Spoke at Lindenhurst Chamber’s May Meeting

May+Meeting

Steve Bellone, Babylon Town Supervisor, was elected Babylon’s 30th Supervisor in 2001.

Just a few of the many interesting accomplishments that were discussed at our meeting, were how Steve has worked hard to achieve a more efficient and effective government with focus on protecting taxpayers by dramatically cutting the size of government.

He reduced the towns debt burden and delivered a $3.5 million tax cut for residents in the 2011.

Steve created the Babylon Beautification program that is planting flowers throughout the downtowns and neighborhoods and roadways in the Town Steve has helped to raise nearly half a million dollars.

Quality of Life issues have been a major focus of Supervisor Bellones administration. Under his leadership, the Town undertook the largest road improvement program in its history by launching a five-year road construction campaign, dramatically improving the Towns roadway network.

He has helped to raise nearly half a million dollars for wounded soldiers by sponsoring annual Soldier Rides with the Wounded Warrior Project and Run for the Warriors in partnership with RWDSU Local 338 to benefit Hope for the Warriors. He placed a banner across the pillars of Town Hall that reads “Thank you to our Veterans, God Bless America” at the start of the war in Iraq.

We thanked him for taking time to update Lindenhurst Chamber and wish him luck in his run for Suffolk County Executive.
